Chattanooga Photographer | Fount Workshop 2016 | Mother and Baby

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of attending an amazing workshop for photographers of motherhood, hosted by The Fount Collective, “a lifestyle publication devoted to the art of being a mother.” My heart resonates with their belief that “motherhood deserves to be celebrated, lifted higher, and beheld for the daily devotion it demands.” As a mother myself, I have intimate knowledge of this daily devotion and, like you, am desperate to hold onto memories of these fleeting little years and all the sweetness that defines them.

As a result, I approach my photography not only as an artist gathering beautiful pieces of your story, but as an opportunity to honor and encourage you in your journey of motherhood. When you see your images I create from our time together, I want you to be overwhelmed with a sense of gratitude for this cherished role that you are playing and the little ones entrusted to your care. A portrait holds an undeniable power and is a gateway to such sweet remembrances, and it is my distinct honor to play a small part in the preservation of your family’s story.

So….a workshop dedicated to motherhood photography? Yes! It was perfect for me! I will be sharing more details about the workshop throughout the coming week, including images from several gorgeous styled shoots. The following portraits were made at our first shoot with beautiful Joanna and Alma. Talk about baby fever! I believe we all had it! Such a precious little chunk of baby love!

Hair and makeup: Molly Stilley

Styling and Creative Direction: Tiffany Farley, Rylee Hitchner and Abany Bauer

Maternity photography is so beautiful to me, celebrating with my clients their excitement about the new life growing inside. As women, we have the honor of participating in a miracle, the growing and nurturing of a brand new little person. How wonderful, and worthy to be photographed. The day this mama’s sweet girl holds these […]

If I had to choose only one age during baby’s first year for photographs, it would be six months. They’re so irresistibly squishy and purely baby. They’re happy and still attached to mama. They’re basically perfect. Bring me all the babies and we’ll freeze time together. You can thank me later. For information about booking […]

Bidding farewell to heat and humidity with some sweet summer family farm photos. Seasons just keep turning, and families keep growing, and babies don’t keep. How beautiful to embrace every stage and season of childhood and parenting. I love the joy within these photographs, celebrating baby Jack’s one year milestone at his grandparents’ farm. I […]
