Dearest Rosemary,
You are a precious gift from a loving God and a constant source of happiness and joy to your family. They never want to forget your beautiful baby features…..those long pretty eyelashes, your first tiny teeth poking through, how you grabbed those ten chubby piggies, the way you stuck out your little tongue, those sparkling joy-filled blue eyes. And they want to always remember how you giggled when your mama twirled you around in her arms, how you loved to pull your daddy’s beard, and how you adored being smothered with your grandmother’s kisses.
But these pictures aren’t solely for the purpose of preserving the memories of your mama and daddy and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
These pictures are for you, Rosemary. You won’t remember these sweet 9-month-old moments. But one day you will hold these photographs in your hands and see with your own eyes the affection and love poured out on you. You’ll witness how your mama and daddy adored you and one another. You’ll see how your tiny fingers fit so perfectly in the loving hands of your grandmother. You’ll be able to SEE JOY……the joy you felt while safe in their arms and the joy your sweet little self brought to their hearts.
And one day your daughter will see it too. And be able to feel it, almost as if she was right there. And your hearts will fill with gratitude that your family gave you this tangible gift of your legacy.
