Once upon a time there lived a little farm girl. She was quite the adored one, and at the small age of two already had a fierce love for her family and her feathered friends, with her flowers and her footwear coming in right behind. The joy of Rosemary’s childhood exudes from these portraits, as she is surrounded by the ones who love her, frolicking in her grandparents’ field of wildflowers and chasing her chickens. She’s in her element and it makes for an authentically beautiful session. Enjoy a small glimpse of our evening on the McKenzie farm.

Rosemary’s precious outfit was whipped up by Robin, her uber-talented grandmother who could sew a wedding gown out of a flour sack. It was the absolute perfect touch for these photos.

Much of the joy was generously provided by the chickens, y’all. To the point of tears when they were removed. So of course, we brought them back and all was well again in Rosemary’s world. (Oh, and don’t let me forget the laughter provided by the narcoleptic rooster – see below – precious thing.)
